We live in a world surrounded by screens, almost everything is digital, connected and on-demand. We need to put on our headphones while jogging, we are compelled to check our phones at every single break we have. The average person living in a city doesn’t have the patience to just be anymore, we have an urge to stay connected and interacting all the time, otherwise we feel we would miss out on something. Our modern society is addicted to social media, we feed of likes and slide on people.

This environment inspired me to make an adaptation of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, replacing the shadows on the wall of the original myth by social media because that’s how we perceive the world nowadays. I don’t think this ultra-connected world is necessarily bad but I do believe that some parts of being human are getting lost in this reality.

I want the audience to feel connected with my main character and with the story, and that is why this film was designed to be displayed on mobile phones.
